Week 4 Assignment #1

Explain how you identify the desired results, how you come up with essential questions & determine what understandings are desired.

The desired results for stage 1 come from the educational standards. Students should understand completely the information that was presented to them through various sources. Evaluation of the full understanding can be conducted with questions and answers in forms of classroom discussions and quizzes. When the evaluation is complete you can address what changes need to be made for your students to fully understand.

Explain how you determine what knowledge & skills students should acquire as a result of learning (connecting to the college & workforce readiness).

Determining that your students have walked away with the knowledge & skill sets you have put before them is when they use information they have used in math to complete an art project. We, as teachers are showing students how to build on what they have learned in every subject, in every grade and to use these skills to be prepared for life outside of school. The math skills can be used to calculate money, reading skills help to follow instructions to build/design, and so on. These skills are a foundation for students achievement in college and in the workforce.
