Teaching Philosophy

Teaching Philosophy

I believe each student has unique qualities that need to be addressed and nurtured in a caring and intellectual atmosphere.  As a teacher, I want all my students to feel as though they are in an environment that is safe, okay to take risks, and that Art has all types of abilities.

A teacher has a great amount of responsibility put on their shoulders; personally I think it is a great honor. Young minds, parents, the community, and the nation is depending on you to aid each student into their future self. In order to this we, as teachers, need to be able to show students that learning is of equal importance as every day needs.

Being active participants in their own learning is also something I believe in. Students need to learn what study habits, note taking skills, and improvement skills work best for them. These skills will not only help them in their educational career, but in their everyday lives.

I believe students need technology and we are here to provide them with the tools to navigate the constantly changing technology. These tools can lend a hand to knowledge, skills, and endless amounts of information. From the day our students enter Kindergarten to the day they receive their diploma technology will be part of their educational and daily lives. Intertwining technology into the classroom is essential for the student’s success once they have entered the world we have prepared them for.
